President Fenves of Emory University named Prof. Sergei Urazhdin as Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Physics Sept. 1, 2020, stating that the “designation of distinguished professor is one of the highest honors that Emory bestows upon a member of the faculty” that “recognizes your eminence as a scholar, as well as the accomplishments that have placed you at the top of your field,…you have made substantial contributions to Emory University’s mission to create, preserve, teach, and apply knowledge in the service of humanity.”
